How to Follow Live Results and a Medal Tally Without Getting It Wrong

Three words that get used interchangeably and should not be. Unofficial means it did not come from the governing body at all. Provisional means it did, but it is not yet final — reviews are open. Official means the body has confirmed it and will only change it through a formal process. A screenshot of a provisional result is not evidence of anything an hour later.
